To create sections in a course, first navigate to the course page.
Once you are on the course page, go to the Administration block, open Course administration, then click Edit settings.
Open the Course format section.
In the Format field, select Collapsed topics.
In the Number of sections field, select the number of sections you want in the course.
Click Save and display.
To name your sections and add a description, if desired, first turn editing on for the course. In the Administration block, under Course administration, click Turn editing on.
Next to each section, click the gear icon.
Under General, select Custom and fill out the text field with the appropriate title. You can also fill in the summary if you'd like to.
If you want to hide a section until the user has met certain requirements, use the Restrict access section. Click Add restriction and then add any parameters that make sense for your course.
Click Save changes when you're ready and then repeat this process for your other sections.
