The home page is the page that your users will land on when they log into the system. The content that initially appears on this page is passed down from the Global Edified site but it can be customized to meet your needs.
To manage the preferences for this page, go to the ADMINISTRATION block on the left and click on Site administration to expand the menu. Next, click on Appearance, then Home page. Select Logged-in settings.
From here, you can set your preferences.
Please note: The preferences set for this page will be passed down to your subtenant sites if you select the Default for subtenant(s) checkbox at the bottom of this page. However, admin users on subtenant sites have the ability to set their own preferences, which will override any preferences you have passed down.
Default landing page
You have the option to choose either the Home page or the Dashboard as the default landing page for your site.
Select the checkbox next to Enable users to set their default landing page, if you would like to allow your users to select their own default landing page.
Home page items
The items in this section appear in the center of the home page. By default, the checkbox next to Display Edified Home page items only will be selected. This option allows the home page items to be managed by the Edified global administrator so you do not have to worry about keeping your organization's home page updated.
If you would like to manage what appears on your site's home page, deselect the checkbox. The home page items will now be editable and all of the items currently available on the Global site will be available to choose from in the drop-down fields. The content will appear in the order in which you select the items.
The checkbox next to Enable Edified content on subtenant site gives you the option to enable or disable the Edified content for your subtenant sites.
Create Your Own Custom content
You have the option to add your own content to your site's home page. To create a custom item, click on the Add new item button.
A section titled Custom item 1 will appear and you can now begin creating your content.
Title
This is the title for this custom section and will only appear in the Home page items drop-down list. It will not be visible on the home page. We suggest that you choose a title that describes the content being presented in this section so that it is easy to identify in the list of items.
Heading
This is the heading that will appear above the custom item. You can choose not to display the heading by selecting the checkbox next to Do not display heading on page. This is useful in the case that you would like to create your own heading within the Content box and set your own preference for its formatting.
Content
This is where you will build the content for your custom item. You can use the WYSIWYG editor, which is what you see by default. This is a standard text editor that allows you to create your content without having to know HTML. To display the name of the icon in the editor, simply hover over it and its name will appear.
Click on the Show more buttons icon to display more options.
If you know how to use HTML and CSS, you can create your custom content by entering your own code. Click on the HTML icon to switch to the HTML editor.
All of your content will be displayed in HTML and you can make changes as needed.
Custom CSS
In this section you can add your own CSS which will only apply to the HTML contained within this custom item.
Make visible to subtenants
When creating a custom item, you have the option to share the item with your subtenant sites. Simply click on the checkbox next to Visible on subtenant sites, and the item will appear in their Home page items drop-down lists.
Save item
Once you are done creating your item, please make sure you click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
Display item on home page
An additional drop-down list will be added for each new custom item you create and each item will now appear in the drop-down lists. To have this item display on your Home page you must select it from one of the drop-down lists.
Remove a custom Item
To remove a custom item, simply click on the Remove item button located below the Custom CSS text box.
Expand or Collapse Custom item sections
When you are working on creating a custom item, you may want to hide other custom items you have already created. This will make it easier to stay focused on the current item you are working on and prevent you from accidentally editing the wrong content. To collapse or expand a Custom item, simply click on the gray arrow to the left of the section header.
